A capacity crowd estimated at 100 or more packed the bar at Old Calypso's restaurant in Delray Beach, spilling onto the waterfront deck in the warm South Florida air. About two dozen people stayed for dinner while another group moved on to Ellie's 50s Diner.
  • Saturday
A small group played golf at the Links of Boynton Beach. Other groups met for lunch, including one at Bud's Chicken in Boynton and another at Jack's Pizza in Delray.
  • Banquet at Quail Ridge Country Club
    Saturday, October 24, 2009 • 6:30-10:30 PM
First it was drinks and conversation in the bar and on the adjacent patio. Then we moved to the dining room as DJ Larry Ruda played The Horse, a mainstay of the Seacrest band.

There was a continuous slide show of images submitted by classmates. Memorabilia on display included issues of The Squall and Esse, our literary magazine. DJ Larry played music from the 60s.

Reunion committee chairman Bob Banting acted as master of ceremonies. He recognized the members of the committee and offered sincere thanks to those who traveled some distance to join us. He recognized Jim Exum, a popular teacher who was able to attend, and Mr. Clifford Ripley, our school principal. Mr. Ripley told an amusing story of how he came to Seacrest.

Class President Ron David spoke movingly of what our school experience has meant to us over the years. Student Council President Woody Larson had a few words for his classmates as well. Later Steve Hardin, quarterback of the football champion Seahawks, shared some memories.
